Composite Factory offers a complete range of services to provide our customers with innovative and technologically advanced custom molded products.  Our complete capabilities extend from product and systems engineering through process development and high volume manufacturing.  We specialize in developing cost effective solutions for difficult problems in the composites arena.

      Composite Factory focuses on a number of high quality, low cost composite molding methods for producing polymer composites for prototype and production.  Manufacturing techniques include:

• Resin Transfer Molding (RTM),

• Vacuum Assisted RTM (VARTM),

• Structural Reaction Injection Molding (SRIM),

• Reaction Injection Molding (RIM), 

• Hand lay-up,

• Chop and spray

• Pre-preg laminates

Our molding capabilities extend to open molding of any size and VARTM in tools up to 18 feet by 35 feet - (to fit within our curing oven).  Autoclave services are available as well.

Resin Systems:

We have extensive experience with the following resin systems, and will work with other systems upon request:

• Vinyl-ester,

• Polyester,

• Urethane,

• Epoxy,

• Flame retardant resins

Reinforcements:

A key benefit to our molding capabilities is the in-house production of high quality preforms for reinforcements.  These preforms enhance our ability to quickly and economically produce complex shapes or work with resin systems that don't flow well through traditional reinforcement material systems.  Composite Factory works with an array of fiber reinforcements including; glass carbon, kevlar, Spectra, Nicalon, and Nextel 312^Ò. 

Finishing:

CFI offers complete finishing capabilities as well, including:

• Trimming and machining of molded parts;

• Gel-coat, paint and pigmented finishes;

• Assembly services for multi-component products, including mounting or system hardware;
